Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a tool that Robb has embraced from the outset. Throughout his life, he has prompted actors, animators, designers, cameramen, musicians, and every type of creative. Now, he is prompting a computer, and it’s not that different. While his colleagues aren’t machines, we all draw inspiration from our influences, and knowledge is the foundation of creativity. Computers are treasure troves of knowledge, and the more literate and educated one is, the more steeped we are in the history of our craft, the more exciting the outcome. The dialogue between colleagues is the space where art happens, and so too in AI, it’s in the interplay between the artist and the machine where creativity takes flight. The French concept of objet trouvé, or found object, is highly relevant here, as in the process of AI, unexpected things are found that inspire and trigger other ideas.

I was incredibly grateful for the freedom it gave me to dream up almost anything that came to mind. With the help of Sora and Luma Dream Machine, these dreams finally found their way to the screen!
